Disclosure Policy
Disclosure has always been a hot topic in the blogging world, which is why this page exists. I’ve always made a point to make mention when I’ve received products to review. Imagine that, transparency without the (over-exaggerated) threat of FTC fire and brimstone. As Beauty Thesis is not based in the US, I’m not legally bound – but I’m doing it regardless. If you have ever wondered the what’s and why’s, this is my official stance on all things related to disclosure.
Beauty Thesis is a personal blog written and edited by me. I accept forms of advertising, sponsorship or other forms of compensation. The compensation received will never influence the opinions given in this blog.
Why not?
For a long time I didn’t want ads on my blog because I thought they were ugly. I also spent a long time under the PR radar and spent much of my own money on supplying the products for looks & reviews. Now that Beauty Thesis is self hosted, I also pay for my domain and web space. This hobby has been always driven by my passion for all things makeup related and wanting to give back, that doesn’t change with outside recognition and I ask that you consider these things before making accusations.
Not all requests for advertising or reviews are accepted, but consideration is given to all relevant pitches. When products are sent, there is no guarantee for a review and if there is a review there is no guarantee it will be a positive review. The only guarantee is that all of my reviews are my honest opinion and experience, though please consider individual differences and that what might (not) work for me, may not (work) for you. Whether I have paid for a product or received it gratis isn’t a factor, as I often talk about price, value and whether a product is worth repurchasing.
The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the my own. Despite the occasional compensation, I have always stated my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, and experiences on those topics or products and will continue to do so. I will also continue to notify my readers when I am discussing or reviewing a product that was sent for consideration within a post.
I am currently in a contract position with a cosmetics company. The position does not offer the benefits or perks of similar permanent positions. Any products I may review or use have been purchased with my own money and are treated as any other.
