Haul: Peacocky Goodies
It’s been a while since a promotional image has grabbed my attention like the one for the Peacocky collection. The conceptualization of the male peacock feather is a common theme in makeup, but admittedly I feel like the creative team at MAC did a very good job here. The lip in particular is fabulous, even if it’s not particularly wearable – I love the gradation of colour!
I originally just wanted to pick up some more Studio Fix powder, but found myself drawn to the displayer and of course within minutes was swatching away happily.
The shadows are absolutely gorgeous, and if I didn’t feel like I had dupes for most of them I definitely would have purchased more. The formula is very creamy, and the finishes range from very metallic to a medium sheen. All of them blended easily and I was content with the colour range – though I did find myself wishing they’d released a palette that would fit these depotted (they’d fit the Cream Colour Bases too!).

The lip colours were fun, but again I felt like I had similar colours at home – so I just picked up a few (the red was a gift) more so to test the formula in more neutral shades. I like how these straddle the line between a lipstick and a gloss. It’s nice to have an alternative to the usual gloss, with a very smooth texture and a more subdued shine. I think the more subtle shades are perfect for daily wear for something that’s polished but soft.

Did you pick up anything from the Peacocky collection? Any recommendations?

Centre Stage Eyeshadow was a must-have for me! Gorgeous brown. I plan on getting Prance & Unflappable eyeshadows and So Vain lipcolour.

I actually thought Centre Stage was quite pretty, but I have so many brown shadows I decided to leave it.
I picked up Woo Me (great nude on my skintone), Love Peck (i love vampy shades), Exxxhibionist and Vanity Fair (easy pink on me) for the lipsticks. I also got Unflappable, Prance and Spectacle of Yourself e/s but I think I prefer the new lipstick formula over the new eyeshadow formula for sure

I have Prance, Mating Call and Woo Me so far from Peacocky and I love them! I have placed an order on Odalisque on Bloomingdales and might get more Mega Metal Eyeshadows at my MAC store on Tuesday.
