Haul: Urban Decay Splurge
If you’ve been following the blog for the past while, you’ll know that I’m in the midst of completing my Project 20 Pan. One of the reasons behind the challenge, was the fact that I was getting really behind on sharing hauls and new products. My ‘new product’ drawer was beginning to overflow, which is just ridiculous. I’ve picked up some great new products in the past few months, but many of them haven’t been showcased because I was too busy buying the next thing.. and so, it’s time to catch up.
First up, Urban Decay!
A while back, I was notified that the Urban Decay Naked palette was actually in stock at a Shoppers Drug Mart, and while it wasn’t exactly close it was less than an hour drive. Naturally, since I’d been trying to hunt down this palette for ages (summer of 2010!) I jumped at the opportunity. I actually called to make sure they still had it and then drove my happy self down to Niagara Falls to pick it up.
It turns out that this particular SDM just had Urban Decay installed into their Beauty Boutique and as such, had a default number set aside for them. That also meant that the 15-piece pencil set was available. I was elated, but truthfully I probably spent longer in the store debating on whether to get both than it took me to drive there before finally deciding to get both. Needless to say, I won’t be needing any pencil liners for a long time.
This is kind of strange, because generally I don’t purchase much from this line. I think the quality is great, but I feel it’s overpriced. With rare exception, I usually stick to palettes because I find they are a better value. Both of these items fall into the same category because even though the price point is higher, the value is undeniable.
The pencils individually are $24, but this set gives you 15 for less than $100. Their eye shadows are $20 and you can get 12 of them, plus a double ended liner and primer potion for less than $60.
Do you prefer to pick up individual items as you need them or you prefer value based sets?

Your SDM has Urban Decay? Man, I’d kill for that right now…need more primer, and have $60 worth of Optimum points to spend, and don’t want to/can’t spend the $$$ on it otherwise.
Congrats on finally getting the NAKED palette, though – and I’m sure you’ll looooove the liners! (I do!)

I’m enjoying them a lot so far, it’s definitely worth it if you love them.
That’s probably because Shoppers Drug Mart is a Canadian drugstore chain. ;]
