For this look I decided to try an experiment. I picked up a Maybelline quad at the drugstore the other day, and when I got home I realized that I could dupe it with some of my MAC eye shadows. So I put together a quad of similar colours and used Maybelline on one eye and MAC on the other eye. It’s mainly to demonstrate that using a good base and strong application techniques can have to very different products looking similar.
Can you figure out which side is which?

I also filmed a tutorial for this look, but at the moment it is quite long. If I can figure out a way to edit it down, it should be up in the next day or so. Otherwise, I’ll re-do it if anyone really wants to see it. :]
Honestly I see no diff. Beautiful.
I love the look and can’t see a difference. Would like to see an edited tutorial.
Thank you. :]
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it and thanks for stopping by. :]
Still working on the tutorial editing. It’s definitely not my forte.
Thanks Beda. <3
Love the way you did the shading here! I cannot see a difference and love that you did this experiment to prove it is the artist and not the paint that makes the look. Love it, love it, love it:) One question though, did you notice a difference in pigment intensity b/w the two brands of shadows?
I’m glad you enjoyed the experiment, it was fun to do. :]
There was some difference in pigmentation. I found that the brow/lid colours were about the same, but the crease/outer corner colours were less pigmented in the Maybelline quad. This isn’t to say that they aren’t pigmented, they are.. just in comparison to MAC I had to work a bit harder to bring up the intensity.
