Face of the Day: Smokey Jade Pearl

Not too long ago I was experimenting with my new NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. This product has near legendary status as an inexpensive base to make shadows pop. I used it with my 88 palette for a quick EotD and I was shocked at how much it elevated those shadows. I’ve had that palette for over a year, and I rarely used it because I felt like the pigmentation was lacking in comparison to my usual shadows.

Since that colourful experiment, I’ve been swatching other so-so products over top of Milk with some pretty good results. The most electric change came from pairing Milk with Jade Pearl Ultra Pearl Mania by NYX. In the container the pigment looks neon, but I found that swatched over bare skin it was very sheer. When used over Milk, it just comes alive and I knew I had to use it in a look.

This is the look, though sadly the photos don’t capture the intensity of the green. The pearl finish reflects a lot of flash, but you get the general idea.
