Face of the Day: Simple Staples

Today was a back to back day for work, and so I needed something that was dramatic enough for the counter but still appropriate for the clinic. I decided to keep things pretty simple and stick to basics; soft definition and colour for the eyes with a neutral peach lip and cheek.  It was definitely a change of pace from the brighter looks I’ve done recently – but I think it served it’s purpose.

Do you have a go-to look that’s appropriate for most situations?

  1. I love this look on you! Very subtle and pretty!

  2. Nice! Like you said, simple and basic. But for me, it’s all around lovely! I like tones like those alot.

    • Thanks Tasha, I’m glad you like it. :]

Neutral tones are so versatile, and don’t have to be boring at all.

I’ve had this look starred in my reader forever and I just keep coming back to it!

I’d love to see a start-to-finish video on this. So simple, but beautifully defined. I used to think I had a handle on my makeup, but I have yet to achieve this level of polish! I’d love to pick up some technique from you so that I can do neutrals without bland or washed out! I guess it’s all about adding dimension or some sort of visual interest.

    LOVE your blog!
