Lip Demo: Colour Experiment
From my combined experience online and working at the counter, I’ve noticed that there are many women who are uncomfortable with colour. This seems to be more prominent with women of colour, where neutral, brown and bronze seem to dominate. With that said, I love all of the aforementioned colours, but there is much to be found outside of that box.
From left to right:
Blankety lipstick (BBQ lip pencil), Angel lipstick (Naked Rose lip pencil),
Vegas Volt lipstick (Mouth Off lip pencil), MAC Red lipstick (Cherry lip pencil), Faultlessly FW* (Nightmoth lip pencil)
*Faultlessly FW was a limited edition colour, try Cyber as a permanent line alternative.
I thought I’d be the last person to fall in love with lipstick, but here I am a few years later with an absolute appreciate for lipstick. There are so many colours and finishes available, that range from subtle hints of colour to in your face brights and deep, sultry darks.
I thought I would do a quick demo video showing a few simple lip looks that all go well with the soft smokey look I’m wearing.

Yes girl rock those colors! I was wearing a bright coral lip the other day and this girl was just staring and smurking but did I give a damn, nope, I just held my head up and rocked that color with confidence!
Thank you Nicole. :]
She must have been crazy, coral lips are the business! I’m glad you rocked it out.
girl preach! so many women of color are afraid of bold beautiful shades and are stuck in that neutral rut! we have got to get out of that lol. color looks beautiful on us, thanks for this post! i love all the looks you posted, i cant even pick a favorite. but thanks to you, i have to pick up Blankety. you’re such an enabler LOL!
I was one of those women once upon a time, now I’m all about bright, bold lips! :]
Me? Enable? Muahaha..! Can’t wait to see you rock out a look with Blankety.
I used to be a neutrals girl, but I love color now. I introduced a friend of mine to color last month, and now she experiments with it more often
I’m glad to hear your friend is now experimenting with colour more frequently! :] I just love having all the options. If I feel like neutral, so be it.. but if I want to rock a bright purple lip, I will. LOL
