Face of the Day: Your Soul is Dark & Purple

I was in the mood for two things: a smokey eye and pigments.  It seemed a good time to try out my sample of Softwash Grey (from MAC’s holiday mini set) – and is it ever gorgeous!  I really wish they had it available in full size!  Even though I’ve pressed many of my pigments, both of these were used loose, and surprisingly this came together with minimal mess.

This might form the basis of my holiday looks this year, I love that it’s dark without being overwhelming but still soft enough not to look over done.

Do you have a favourite loose pigment you love to use?

  2. gorgeous as usual!!

  3. This is a perfect smoky eye look. The color is just beautiful. Excellent! <3<3

  4. Pretty Pretty as always!
& dream liquid looks fantastic on you!
Looks like a pink clown base on me, sigh.

    The necklace is fabulousness…….

The concealer trial period is done & I’m hoping to get the finding all scratched up tomorrow.

    • You know, I was thinking the same thing! I had to mix it with Revlon’s ColorStay, because it seems like Maybelline’s foundations are far too pink/ashy for me. I do like the texture/finish though.. sadly, it’s just not the right tone on it’s own. >.<

Yay.. necklace love! I bought it years ago, it's a fun piece.

Can't wait to see your concealer write up, I actually thought of you when I was browsing concealers at Sephora on Sunday.. LOL

      • Glad to know that I’m thought of fondly, lol!

*Sigh* got hit with a gig at the last minute (which is a good thing), but I’ve been left to prep for that.
        So, I’m hoping tonight.

Yes, so right, the textures are really nice, but that pinkness has got to go.

What do you think of the golden beige in PR? I initially bought the #006 natural beige which was ok, if topped with a warmer powder-usually my beauty society or mufe duo mat.
Don’t know if you caught my post way back about it, but I quite like it.
Anywhoo, gave it to mom & it matched her perfectly.
        =P
If I remember caramel was too dark….

        • In the summer I was mixing Golden Beige with Caramel.. Golden Beige on it’s own was too light (Caramel was too dark) and even now I can’t seem to pull it off on it’s own. It looks fine in person, but in photos it looks horribly ashy. I’ll be using the rest of it in the mix since I like the texture, but I won’t be purchasing.

  5. I’m loving it!
    Like Mc Donald’s fries <3
