LUSH: Golden Ticket Contest
I don’t know about you, but Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of my favourite books and movies as a child. That room with the chocolate waterfall was amazing, and the lick-able wallpaper.. well who doesn’t want to try a snozzberry?!
That said, I was really excited to hear that LUSH is running a ‘Golden Ticket’ contest this holiday season. While the LUSH factory isn’t quite the candy heaven of my childhood dreams, it’s a pretty good alternative considering the fabulous goodies they concoct there.

How awesome is that?1 I want a Golden Ticket! LOL
A Golden Ticket equals a golden day. Suddenly the LUSH world could be yours – what an amazing thing! Bathe in the lap of luxury, shower over the moon in ecstasy or, take a trip to our factory and see how amazing it all is firsthand.

georgina xo
I just got a golden ticket too and found out I am a loser.
What bright spark in the Lush marketing dept thought it was a good idea to let 45,000 customers so excited that they thought they had won a prize, then had to log on to find out they were a loser?
it’s Willy Wonky if you ask me. Why not just print the number of tickets that win a prize like every other competition on the planet?
Was the idea pitched something like this?
Marketing Expert
Let’s print 50,000 golden tickets, so some customers might win a prize. About 500 of you, which is a . If you are lucky. Maybe. Like a big prize, you know huge. Not that big, but $500 is a big prize right? That will cost about $150 worth of soap to make, which is actually less than the cost of printing 50,000 golden tickets and the labor of sticking them in random boxes by hand.
Boss of Lush
I like that we only have 1% of winners, and 99% who think they have won are really losers. It is like the Occupy Wall Street banners right? I love being topical and sort of generous. Lets do it.
At least we could have won a 10 discount off our next purchase, instead of which all we got was disappointment. Not the best feeling for your best customers Lush You think we are all that excited over a piece of worthless shiny paper?
When I heard about it, my first thought was that it was something like a free lottery ticket. No guarantee to win, but a chance.
I can see where you’re coming from though; perhaps that is something best shared with LUSH?
Agreed… “Congrats, you found a Golden Ticket – oh wait never mind you get zilch LOL thanks a lot suckers!”
I’ve wondered, where exactly is the ticket when you open the box? Is it in plain sight or do you have to dig around for it?
Stop being a sore loser. Be thankful that you can even afford a bathtub to use Lush product in. You could be showering in the ditch somewhere or not at all……BE THANKFUL.
I found 3 tickets… none were instant winners, major bummer.
