Annabelle Mono Blush: Golden Bronze #51
Product Name ~ Annabelle Mono Blush (Golden Bronze #51)
Product Description ~ (from annabellecosmetics.com) Softly glowing cheeks or added depth to cheekbones: Annabelle’s blush is just what you need to get that healthy and youthful look! Its weightless and velvety texture makes it easy to apply and perfectly blendable. Say hello to a healthy complexion.
The Experience ~ This is the first of a few products that I will be reviewing that were sent to me by the Canadian cosmetics company, Annabelle. I’ve been familiar with the brand for years, but I was never drawn to the blushes. Admittedly when I received the blush I was skeptical, since in the past I’ve found that drugstore blushes just aren’t pigmented enough for me. This little pot of blush surprised me in a really big way.
The packaging is very simple and easy to open. The name of the blush isn’t printed on the back label, it’s just a number, but you can find the names on the website. It’s a pearl finish black, that is very sleek if not a bit generic. Yet, in this very unassuming packaging, you’ll find a remarkably pigmented brush. Golden Bronze is a lovely colour, and definitely falls into one of my favourite shades for blush. It’s a deep pink-peach with a gold sheen. It actually reminds me a lot of MAC’s Peachtwist, which was the first blush I ever purchased.
The colour is very rich with a slight frost finish. Looking at the pan there appears to be some glitter, but it doesn’t translate much onto the skin.. which I definitely appreciate. The formula is very soft and smooth, which I love. Although I find it can be a bit powdery if you apply too much at once, layers are defintely the way to go. It also blends like a dream, which was also very surprising.
Due to the high pigmentation of this blush, I would definitely recommending using just a little to start and then building to your desired intensity. The first time I applied it I swirled my brush and it ended up with way too much on my face. That’s what I get for underestimating this blush.
Overall, I think this is a great product. What’s even better is that it’s an affordable price and easily attainable at the drugstore. My curiousity is piqued about the other colours, I will definitely be checking out more of these blushes the next time I’m at the drugstore.
