Experience: Ever since I first got involved in the online beauty community, I’ve heard people talking about this foundation. I never gave it much consideration because I feel that it’s expensive for a drugstore foundation. Sadly, the sales that seem to happen frequently in the US just don’t exist here. At the time, my naive makeup logic figured that if I was going to be spending serious money for foundation, it may as well be mid-high range. It was just recently that I thought to give it a try, more for the ‘colour stay’ aspect more than anything else.
There is nothing more annoying that foundation transferring onto your clothes! I figured it was just a part of makeup life, but with high necklines, sweaters and scarves a big part of my wardrobe I was tired. And what better time to test good wear than in the summer time, when the heat keeps everyone on their toes to prevent their makeup from sliding right off.
Initially, I didn’t like the foundation. It’s a lot thicker than what I had been using, so I had to experiment to get the right technique down. I wanted coverage, but I didn’t want a finish that came out looking to heavy. The best results came when I started using a large, flat top kabuki. I didn’t need much product, but the coverage was solid while still looking natural. Bingo! And the best part, while I don’t find it 100% colour fast – it does a pretty good job. It’s been my go to foundation for most of the summer, and it manages to stay on my oily skin during the hottest days.
Pros: great coverage, long wearing, smooth application, sweat proof
Cons: limited undertone range, no pump, some transfer, price

I agree with you. This is a pretty good drug store foundation. To be honest with you I like Revlons foundation better than the MAC foundation that I just brought…wasn’t overly excited about the MAC brand. But the Revlon color stay is great for the price!
It just goes to show that foundation is a very personal thing, but it’s always nice to find a great product for less. :]
Colorstay is my fave drugstore foundation! I had the same experience as you when I first tried it. In fact, I hated it and it was months b4 I tried it again after watching videos of ladies showing application techniques. Awesome results.
=)
I’m glad I gave it another try, takes a bit of work but definitely worth it. :]
Love this foundation too!!! What colour are you in this foundation?
What’s your favourite brush to apply this foundation with. Mine is the MAC stippling brush

Hi Wande. :] I’ve been wearing 370/Toast, but I may look into a different shade as the last bits of my summer tan fade. I prefer to use the ELF powder brush, or the MAC 130.
you described the price as a con? just out of interest why?
Hi Wande. :] I listed it as a con because I feel like the price point is high for a drugstore foundation. Almost $20 a bottle is pushing the limits, in my opinion.
