Five Faves: October 2012
October saw an interesting run of products as I sorted through all things pink, only one of these is actually a pink product.. and even that, is by the smallest margin. Last month’s favourites a mix of new, rediscovered and renewed.
If you’d like a full or quick review of any of these product, just let me know in the comments.
L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup Lotion in Perfect Beige (n5.5)
With few exceptions, I don’t pay much attention to drugstore foundation. Unfortunately, most of the lines in my area don’t carry the full colour range – and even if they did, I rarely find matches. Needless to say, when I noticed that this foundation was offered in a ‘half’ shade I was immediately intrigued. The colour is one of the closest I’ve found in the drugstore, it gives a demi-matte finish with decent coverage that builds nicely. I have been transitioning away from my BB creams and this has been something I’ve reached for consistently since I purchased it.

MAC Haute And Naughty Too Black Lash
The original formula of this mascara left a lot to be desire, so I’m not sure why this version is so awesome. The double wiper system makes it great for those who like multiple options in one tube and it meets my criteria for being a very deep, dark black. Like most mascaras, this doesn’t hold up on my lower lashes.. but since getting this, I almost always use it because it’s just that good.

MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Naked Lunch
I’ve had this eye shadow for a very long time. It’s just one of those staple shades that fits into most palettes, but I hadn’t been using it regularly. I’m not sure why I suddenly fell in love with it, but I adore the cooler champagne sheen of this shadow. For the past few weeks, it’s been living on my inner corner. MAC describes it as a minimal pink with shimmer, and I agree – the level of pink is quite subtle, but it’s definitely not your typical white, white gold or pale peach shimmer shade.

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original
This mini tube was included with a palette and this just happened to coincide with my beloved Bamboom coming to an end. It’s been a while since I’ve used UDPP, but I’m happy to report that I still enjoy it – and it still works. My shadows hold up quite well, as do my brows as I also smooth this through my brows prior to filling them in. Oddly enough, I think I prefer these smaller sizes because I feel like I will be able to get through all of it before the texture changes.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar
Another product that’s been mentioned before, and this pencil was recently mentioned in the August installment of Five Faves. As I mentioned in that video, it’s a lovely plum shade. It has a metallic sheen, but it’s not too frosty and the sheen diminishes the more it’s blended out. I’m just fully in love with this pencil. I love the colour, I love the depth, I love how it blends and I love that it works as a great base for a purple smoky eye.
