Five Favourites ~ November 2009

Five Favourites / November 2009
Pür Minerals Pür Balm
This is a product that was rediscovered. I picked it up at the drugstore quite some time ago, and never got into using it. A multi-purpose product is always appreciated and now that the weather is getting colder and drier, this is a staple in my makeup bag. It’s loaded with tons of oils (olive, sweet almond, mandarin orange to name a few) as well as various extracts. I love that it’s small enough to be very portable and works just as well on lips as it does on nails.
Hydrating balm for nails, skin & lips (from purminerals.com) $16.50 USD
MAC Lipstick in What A Do!
What A Do! was unfortunately a limited edition release with MAC’s Blonde, Brunette and Redhead collection. It’s a pink/gold/nude hybrid, with a frost finish that isn’t too over the top. This is a perfect neutral lip for me and is definitely one of my favourite LE colours.
Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous. (from maccosmetics.ca) $16.50 CAD
MAC Lustreglass in Instant Gold
This was my first lustreglass and I think it’s probably one of my most versatile glosses. It works very well on it’s own and it can be paired with any shade of lipstick or liner to give a subtle peachy golden sheen.
Two high-powered effects – Lustre and Glass – in one new lip finish. This amazing ornamental finish shines the lips with hi-shine overlaid with various tones of pearlized glaze. Beyond sexy. Transcends all known shine. (from maccosmetics.ca) $16.50 CAD
MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo in Hot Contrast
I have been reaching for this duo regularly every time I do a dark smokey eye. While some MES can be difficult to work with, this particular duo is great. The solid black half is a very intense, very matte black and it makes a great lid colour for smokey eyes and used wet it makes an excellent black liner. The marbled silver side is a very pretty mix of white, silver, pink, red and black and gives a very pretty silvery pink when blended out, it also can double as a nice highlight on the eyes or face.
Two coordinating shades of Mineralize Eye Shadow baked together in a single pan compact. A superb way to experience Mineralize’s unique properties: exceptionally sheer and lightweight application, and easy, rich colour. Finishes include super-fine pearl that leave a soft dimensional shimmer on the skin. (from maccosmetics.ca) $23.50 CAD
Stila Multi-Effect Mascara in Black
A while back I picked up a sampler set from Sephora, and this is how I got to try out this mascara. This mascara is great on my lower lashes, it doesn’t transfer under my eyes like some others I’ve used and I really like that. There’s nothing worse than knowing you need to keep a mirror on hand to touch up under the eyes all day. The formula leans to the dry and thick side which is why I think it stays so well.
Multi-effect mascara is a true multi-tasker. It does the job of three formulas by volumizing, lengthening, and curling with just the right amount of building power! Experience this ultimate mascara – and make a lash-ing impression. (from stilacosmetics.com) $20 USD

Hello there! Beautiful blog! Great list, too =)
I love Hot Contrast, I think the black is fantastic, even better than Carbon since it’s so smooth.
Thank you so much. :]
And yes, I like this black over Carbon too.. it’s less work.
