Swatch Comparision ~ Yellows [M.A.C.]

Swatches: MAC Yellows

Swatches: MAC Yellows

A few days ago I did a swatch comparison for Linda (of Color Story Collections) with all the yellow MAC eye shadows I own. Then I thought that I may as well share it here as well. I have a thing for yellow eye shadow.  Actually, I have a thing for any red, orange or yellow eye shadow, so I’ve slowly been acquiring them over the past year and a half.   With that said, it wouldn’t be a big surprise to know that I was very happy to hear of the new yellow eye shadow that was a part of MAC’s Style Warrior collection; Bright Future. For some people, there might be too much similarity between the colours, but that is not the case for me.  I love having the different shades and textures to work with.  Personally I find the deeper yellows (Bright Future & Goldenrod) do very well with warm tones, whereas Chrome Yellow and Bright Sunshine are best with greens and blues.  In terms of versatility, I feel like Chrome Yellow and Bright Sunshine would be the better options, since they can be used with both warm and cool colour schemes.

As I was browsing the MAC Pro website I discovered that Goldenrod has been marked with the black triangle of death! In other words, it’s going to be discontinued. Boo.

Goldenrot is wonderful, but not something I can wear.
