Pressing Pigments: Tutorial
I first started talking about pressing pigments back in February. I’ve gone through a number of my pigments and pressed them, and it’s fantastic. It’s actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. I wish I’d started pressing sooner, I’m getting a lot more use out of my pigments now that I can put them in my palettes for everyday use or travel. A video tutorial seemed like a better option than photos, so check it out and let me know what you think.
Enjoy!

Great tutorial! That’s so helpful. I find I rarely use pigments because they’re messy and it’s just so much easier to reach for my palettes. I should try this some time.
I was in the same boat.. and I’m so happy I did. So much easier to integrate pigments into looks now. :] Definitely recommend trying it out.
Great post, really like you doing a video. Takes alot of the guesswork out. I want to try to press now. Can’t wait to play. Thanks
Glad to hear it, and always glad to help. Enjoy your pressing. :]
Super very helpful, I watched if first on Youtube. Thanks!
this tutorial was so fun! i would have never thought to press pigments. what an excellent idea!!! is there an advantage to pressing pigments vs. buying a similar color eyeshadow (ex. are pigments more vibrant, easily applied than eyeshadow, etc)? thanks again for the video. loved it!
I do find the texture of pressed pigments is different than most eye shadows; it’s very soft and definitely rates high on the pigmentation scale. The reason I love pigments is because they’re multi-purpose.. eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blush, gloss, nail polish, can all be made using loose pigment. But when it comes to convenience, loose powder can get messy, especially when you’re prone to knocking things over. LOL
Nice!
Thanks. :]
